Frosty white glass copper wind chime

Frosty white glass really stands out against most backgrounds— nice contrast! The glass is from clear glass bottles, which, once given a mat finish, turn frosty.  Very cool!

Natural Materials, Naturally Beautiful Yard Art

Natural Driftwood & Beach Stone
Copper Wind Chime
available at Coast Chimes with free shipping

Somehow nice driftwood with rounded, smooth beach stones just go together. There is something soothing about the combination. Add in a set of Coast Chimes pure copper antiqued with chimes (with a beach stone clapper / striker!), and the picture is perfect. Ideal for year round outdoor use— the driftwood and beach stone look even nicer when wet from rain!

After a fair period of warm, somewhat sunny, days, today is a cool, wet day here on the Sunshine Coast. That got me looking at this warming earth coloured kaleidoscope wind chime. Outdoor Well Crafted Blue Glass and Antiqued Copper Wind Chimes

Cobalt blue glass with antiqued copper wind chime: Coast Chimes
Cobalt Blue Glass with Antiqued Copper
$87 USD at Coast Chimes

Cobalt blue glass somehow just really goes perfectly with antiqued copper, as can be seen in the picture above. The glass looks awesome anytime, but really comes alive when the sunlight shines through from behind.

All the glass is artist-made beach glass, upcycled from old bottles. The copper is cut, brushed, treated with a reactive, steel wool brushed, hammered. The chimes are cut from brass and also treated with a reactive (a finish that will not peel or flake, but only look even better over time). These chimes are made to last, and may be enjoyed fully exposed to the elements all year long.

Bigger can be Better

Large Driftwood Double Copper Wind Chime ~ a Treat for the Eyes, and the Ears. See other large works in my eBay store, or the major works page on my website.

Sometimes I really enjoy making big works. I forget that one day I will have to pack them and ship. There are strict limits on both size and weight, so always my first thought when the 'sold' notice comes through is "Yipee!" followed shortly by "Oh, Oh" as I realize what a job it will be to pack, and also wondering if it might be too big, too heavy. As I've made more and more large pieces, I have become a little more clever in designing them for easier packing. But it's still quite a chore.

Spring Garden Tip, Wind Chimes

Large, freestanding, true verdigris copper wind chime with beach glass-inspired glass and a natural beach stone base. Just the thing for a lonely deck, or next to a pond. Year round use outdoors is just fine. To learn more about this wind chime, or to buy it, visit my website.

The time change is this weekend, I hear. Three weeks earlier than usual. That means Spring can't be far away, and thoughts turn to the garden, the yard. An easy way to make a dramatic improvement to your landscape is to add a special art wind chime or sun catcher. It's easier than planting flowers (and no watering!), and less messy than fresh paint. A special wind chime can be a focal point, and when the wind blows you get lovely sound as a bonus.
